The Viking Camp on the riverbank below Slane Castle
Over the last 4 years Boyne Valley Viking Experience has grown to become the largest Viking festival in Ireland.
Over 500 reenactors regularly come to meet friends old and new, exchange stories & skills,
sell their goods, fight on the battlefield and sail long ships on the River Boyne
in the shadow of the famous Slane Castle.
The craftspeople who display their skills and sell their work are among the most respected in Europe.
Camping is available nearby at The Beautiful Slane Farm Hostel,

Boyne Valley Viking Experience will be the largest historical re-enactment festival in Ireland in 2025. See them battle to be the champion, with beautiful Slane Castle in the background.
An event spectactular for both Saturday & Sunday at 2pm - Viking Long Ships on the River will bring many warriors to greet their comrades on land.
Talk with the sailors from the Vikings TV Series, they will tell you about their adventures.
Viking reenactors from all over Ireland and Europe will camp at Slane Castle and will tell the Viking story of the Boyne Valley to visitors. Buy a variety of unique items at the Authentic Viking Market.
Viking families and warriors will be camped in a tented village below the Castle.
The camp will be open from 10.30 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 4.30 pm on Sunday to show how Viking folk lived in the area more than a thousand years ago. Demonstrations throughout each day will be by crafts people using medieval tools and ancient skills and will include, woodworking, leatherworking, pottery, weaving, jewellery making, birds of prey by Raven Haven Aviary, Rune Readings by an expert, music by medieval bands – and much more.
Visitors to the camp can try archery and hear Skalds tell Viking sagas. Artisans will have their handcrafted goods on display and for sale - participate in children's treasure hunts, story telling, viking games and viking style face painting - see fierce warriors do battle to be Irish champion.
